From a Sketch to a Luxury Residence: Our Custom Door Collaboration with a New York Designer
When a renowned New York-based interior designer reached out to us with a vision for a luxury residence in a coastal city, we knew we were not just manufacturing doors—we were co-creating a masterpiece. The project demanded a seamless blend of modern minimalism and the warmth of natural wood, a balance that would define the home’s entire aesthetic.
The journey began with a single sketch: a sleek, paneled wooden door, designed to serve as both a functional partition and a sculptural element within the space. The designer’s vision was clear: the doors needed to be more than just entryways; they were to be the quiet heroes of the interior, framing views, defining spaces, and elevating the overall design language.
Our team of master craftsmen and engineers worked hand-in-hand with the designer, translating every line of the sketch into precise technical specifications. We selected a premium, sustainably sourced hardwood, chosen for its rich, warm tone and exceptional durability. Each door was meticulously milled, joined, and finished using a combination of traditional joinery techniques and modern CNC precision, ensuring every edge was sharp, every panel was perfectly aligned, and every surface was smooth to the touch.
The most significant challenge came in the execution of the custom perforated wooden panels, which were designed to allow light to filter through while maintaining privacy. This required a delicate balance of artistry and engineering. Our artisans spent weeks refining the pattern, ensuring the laser-cut perforations were uniform and the structural integrity of the wood was preserved. The result was a series of doors that were both functional and ethereal, casting beautiful patterns of light and shadow across the rooms.
When the final installation was complete, the designer’s vision had been fully realized.
